World of warcraft damage numbers not showing

Problems with combat text

#1 - Oct. 20, 2010, 5:53 p.m.

In regards to floating text, Morgraine, the issue may be related to your operating system. Certain in game settings are saved in a configuration file and if the game does not have the proper privileges to save your settings, they will reset.

If you are using Windows Vista or WIndows 7 try the following step:

- Completely exit the game
- Right click your WoW icon and select "Run as administrator"
- Try turning off combat text
- Restart the game and make sure you use " Run as administrator" one last time

As for the quests, have you tried resetting your UI?
Q u o t e:

How to Reset Your UI

With the game closed please try moving or deleting your WTF, Cache, and Interface folders out of your World of Warcraft directory. These are temporary files that will be recreated by the game the next time you launch. Moving them to the desktop makes it easy to replace them if necessary.

If you see no changes, you may wish to submit an in game ticket and our game masters will be glad to further look into the issue.

[Announce] Combat Text

Short Intro

This asset will let you add dynamic text to your game, to create things like the now famous “Scrolling Combat Text” from World of Warcraft or display damage numbers around an enemy when you hit them.

Long Intro

This asset has been in the making for a while, it’s been 95% complete and idle on my disk for about two months. I decided to push for the last part over the past day, and it’s ready for release. In essence it’s a bitmap font engine, which you can design fancy animations to if you so please. There are two distinct parts of the engine, one is for displaying static text - for things like in-world text, name-plates, etc. The other part is for display dynamic text that is displayed either in the UI or in the world as a response to something happening, the dynamic text can be animated, scaled, moved around, etc.

Cannot see damage numbers

I logged in today, tried testing some builds at training dummy and no damage numbers are showing up. I had zero addons when I first logged in and only added details and raider.io. Did /reload still same thing. Anyone else have this happen?

You have to re-enable floating combat text through console commands. The menu doesn’t have them.

This doesnt work for me unfortunately. I even disabled my addons, enabled floating combat text, logged completely out of the game, and i still cant see damage numbers over mobs.

in case people come back in the future after 11.2 I downloaded “classic floating combat text” by teHypno on curseforge until addons are gone…

Dr. Damage

Is there a way to get the doctor damage numbers too display during combat?

It seems that whenever my felguard starts whacking a mob the damage numbers disappear. Is there a way to fix this?

Aye, same here, the numbers show for me all the time.

One thing I have noticed is form changing while on a druid the numbers will remain for the previous form, even if the slot is emptied due to no ability there.
