Märklin my world - "Farm" Starter Set



Model:
The train has a battery drive and magnetic couplers between the individual cars. The locomotive and tender are a permanently coupled unit with a built-in battery holder. The locomotive has 3 speed levels in forward and reverse, 3 sound functions, and dual headlights. In addition, the locomotive has a water-based smoke generator so that the locomotive can steam from the smoke stack.
Train length approximately 49 cm / 22-7/16".
Contents: The set has 13 sections of curved plastic track, 8 sections of straight plastic track, 1 right turnout, and a track bumper. An easy-to-use, wireless Märklin Power Control Stick is also included. Different farm animals, a model of a tractor, and 4 AA and 2 AAA batteries are included with this set. This set can be expanded with the 23400 plastic track extension set.


This starter set can be expanded with the farm (item number 72212) into an exciting theme world all about the theme of a farm.

This train can be operated with 2 different frequencies (Q/R) and another my world train can thereby be added to a setup.

When my four-year-old son announced that he wanted a model train set, I initially considered a regular digital starter set by e.g. Roco, but my wife convinced me that this was unsuitable. So we instead bought a Märklin My World set, the Fire Department starter, and a couple of extra accessories. The starter consists of a track oval, two switches to make a short section of parallel track, the locomotive, and three rail cars. Aimed at young kids, these include a water pump, and loads (a container and a helicopter. The locomotive is based upon the DB V100, but simplified, including the use of two single axles instead of two dual-axle trucks. The locomotive is powered by a USB rechargeable battery. The controller is battery-powered (two AAA batteries are included) and works via IR, hence needs to be pointed into the general direction of the train. It has three forward and three reverse speeds, a brake button, and four buttons for lights and sounds.
