Super mario bros 3 world 6 level 5

Super Mario Bros. 3/World 6

Mario's teeth are sure to chatter as he descends from the sunny landscape above the clouds to a frozen winter wonderland. Be glad you've got the warm and cozy Tanooki Suit—you'll need it to keep out the winter chill.

Hammers will do you no good beyond World 6, so use them up if you like. You can shortcut around three stages, but you may miss out on some great secrets and power-ups as a result.

World 6-1[edit | edit source]

Snow-capped trees and wispy clouds serve as the backdrop to an arctic expedition. This winter wonderland is slippery. All surfaces in this place are extremely slick and there's no way you can come to a complete stop quickly. Be careful you don't slide right into the enemy!

1
: Avoid the Ptooie while collecting the power-up. Become fiery if possible; most enemies in Ice World are vulnerable to firepower.

2
: When Ptooie spits the spiked ball in the air, jump over him. You can also easily defeat it with firepower or a tail attack.

3
: Take flight with the Raccoon Suit and soar to the secret door. Behind it, you'll find a room (shown right) full of blocks that can be transformed into coins by using a Switch Bloc

World 5: Sky Land - The Sky

5-1: Meet Buster Beetle/Lift Met, cousin of Buzzy Beetle. He is not fireproof like Buzzy is and he likes to chuck ice blocks.

Get past the Chain Chomps as they can catch you slipping.

Meet Nipper Plant/Puchi Pakkun. Watch out when jumping over them because they attempt to nip Mario in the air by jumping themselves.

Go through this pipe. In the American version, this is where the level is supposed to end as the dark area + roulette appears here but in this game, you go through the pipe first.

Why was this wall removed? I don't have the P-wing here so my attempt to show you is futile. The thing is that, there is a strange bug that occurs when flying over this side of the wall and running to the left then running back and hitting the roulette for a random item even a whistle if lucky.

5-2: Start this level by entering this pipe.

There are two ways to tackle this level. You can take the high road or take the low road. I took the high road. Low road will ha

World 6: Ice Land - Iced Land

6-1: This level as a whole as you expect from the times you played ice levels in certain games is slippery. If you move at a certain speed, you will slide forward a certain distance after stopping. Meet Ptooie/FuuFuu Pakkun. It will juggle a spiked ball into the air with its breath. Some Ptooies actually walk.

Like these over here. Wait for the spike to be at its highest point to jump safely over the Ptooies.

Here is a power-up if needed.

6-2: The level scrolls automatically.

Use these weird glacier platforms to get through tricky walls.

especially one where the platforms are off sync and you have to do some fancy maneuvering to pass this wall.

6-3: I started this level as Hammer Mario. The hammers he throws are more powerful than fireballs and kill any enemy that fireballs can't such as Boo Diddley, Hot Foot, Thwomp Traps, and Podobos.

Wait for the platform to start passing under this wall then jump over the wall to land back on the platform.

Few game franchises can trace back to a single game that resulted in so many lasting changes to the series as Super Mario Brothers 3.  It represents a massive evolutionary leap that we are still playing derivatives of more than 20 years later.  Every 2D Mario platformer since Super Mario Brothers 3 can trace its foundation back to this game and the new features it brought to the franchise.  It is truly one of the most impactful games to be found on the NES, and one of the all time best platformers ever made.

Super Mario Brothers 3 (SMB3) was released for the NES in North America in 1990 and proved to be a ground-breaking game for the franchise.  Now standard gameplay elements such as the overworld map, different suits for Mario to wear, the Koopa Kids, and the capability of storing items all originated in Super Mario Brother 3.  SMB3 would eventually sell more than 18 million units globally and, depending on th
