A brand new music festival is on the way to California to present an immersive experience like never before.



Pendulum is bringing the Worlds Away festival to California, USA. Taking place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey on October 12, the festival will see Grammy-winning DJ/producer duo The Chainsmokers and Dutch DJ/producer Tiësto as headliners. ‘I Like Me Better’ hitmaker Lauv and R3HAB are also on the bill for the debut edition of Worlds Away, alongside Dutch DJ/producer Sam Feldt, American DJ duo Lost Kings, and Ayokay completing phase one of the line-up.

“This is not just a music festival. Worlds Away will be an immersive, augmented experience,” says festival founder Ro Sahebi about Worlds Away, as per Variety. “Today, festivals are focused on getting bigger and bigger. It’s hard to when you’re among 7,000 people as I was last Saturday, Oct. 12, while attending the first Worlds Away electronic dance music festival at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. In a couple of words, what I was feeling along with the rest of the “travelers” who went to the radical audio visual experience was joy and awe. 


EDM is misunderstood by many.
“RAVE” is actually an acronym that stands for “radical audio visual experience.” A heavy reliance on technology to produce this is often scoffed at by traditionalists, but I offer that technology has always played a role in musical invention. The guitar that Jimi Hendrix lit on fire was electric and ushered in an era for the modern music festival right here in Monterey. Amps, speakers and visual effects continue to improve, which is what these producers are capitalizing on.
