Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos
requires the use of a lot of tools to get wood, ore, feed, and other needed items. The starting versions of these tools are unbreakable and pretty useful, but upgrading these tools makes the daily chore list easier on the player's avatar. In order to upgrade some tools, players will need just to get some money and some Winds of Anthos ore. Others, however, require a whole lot more work to get upgraded.

Farm Tools
Your farm tools are what you need to grow crops and care for animals. In
Anthos
, there's no need to dig through your inventory to find the right tool for the task. The tool you need will automatically be used when interacting with your subject. For example, press the action button in a crop field to auto-equip the hoe and till the soil. The available actions will appear on-screen when you interact with something that requires a tool.
You can remodel tools to improve efficiency and conserve stamina. When ordering tool upgrades, the materials
must
be in your bag. The crafters can't build from what you have stored at your house. If you need to access your home's storage without going home, head to the nearest general store, flower shop, or animal shop. You'll find a small cabinet next to the shop's counter directly linked to your house storage.
Note that you CAN process ore into metal when the ore is in the farmhouse storage, but the metal must be in your bag to be used for tool upgrades.
There is no crafter shop available in Providence. The crafter located in the DLC town of Verne Village does not offer any tool upgrades.
