Darktide home world
About This Game
Take back the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty foes in this intense and brutal action shooter.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
is the new co-op focused experience from the award-winning team behind the Vermintide series.
In the depths of the hive, the seeds of corruption threaten to turn into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious and sinister new force is seeking to take control of the entire city. It is up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to root out the enemy before the city succumbs to Chaos.
As Tertium falls, Rejects Will Rise.
Built on the legacy of Vermintide 2’s best-in-class melee combat, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide introduces intense WH40K gunplay to the mix. Master the balance between ranged and melee combat as you fight through a slew of enemies. Feel the impact of each swipe, swing, and slice of a chainsword, or fry some flesh with a lasgun.
Darktide is a co-op game. Wandering too far, risks punishment by foes looking to immobilize or capture stray Rejects, such as the slavering Chaos Hound or the Moebian Trapper. Once you fall prey to such foes, only your teammates can save you! More than that, your innate to
Warhammer fans often know a truly stunning amount of lore about their favorite army. The franchise has enough backstory to fill a few thousand encyclopedias. Character building might be very important to some players when playing a game like Warhammer 40K Darktide. From classes to the weapons that best fit them, every character is unique. However, if you don't know anything about the lore, you might not get much out of some choices.
Choosing a Home World in Warhammer 40k Darktide
The most important thing to understand about Home Worlds is that the choice does not affect gameplay. You can pick any of the eight planets, and your gameplay experience will be identical. Choosing a Home World only has two main effects. It changes some small lines of dialogue and locks off one visual customization option. With that in mind, you will suffer no penalty for making any particular choice.

Hello!
My name is Juras Rodionovas, and I’m the Lead Character Artist on the Darktide team. Together with many talented colleagues, I’m working to bring the characters and horrors of Atoma Prime to life. I love everything gritty and creepy, and so working at Fatshark on a project like Darktide for the past two and half years has been nothing but a joy.
Today, I’m super excited to provide an insight into the character customization in Darktide and talk about how we’ve worked together to allow players to create their own characters of the 41st millennium in the Warhammer universe.
Entering the world of Fatshark and 41st Millenium
At the beginning of my journey at Fatshark, my only previous experience with the Warhammer universe was
Warhammer 40 000 - Dawn of War 2
. I have very fond memories of playing it when I was younger. I also started playing
Warhammer: Vermintide 2
about a year before joining Fatshark. I vividly remember playing Vermintide 2 and being impressed by how fun and coherent the game felt. Those were the signs that the whole team was very passionate about the project and the quality of their work. And those were the values that

look this up! It is admittedly a bit of a hassle, as it won’t let me simply copy some segments correctly for whatever reason, and requires a considerable amount of time to present here. (Hopefully this doesn’t become a common request! )
On that note, might I suggest creating a discussion over at our Gameplay Feedback section to propose a feature to view one’s own operative background information? Perhaps if enough players show interest in the idea, it could be read and considered by our developers.

Home World: Crucis
Considered the “second world” of the Moebian Domain, Crucis is a large shrine world, and a popular destination for pilgrimages.

Childhood: Moebian Shrineguard
The Moebian Shrineguard are a religiously fanatical, xenos-hating militia, sworn to defend the tenets and temples of Saint Messelina to the death.
At a young age you survived the Bloody Throne ritual to join an Ecclesiarchy Militia sect known as the Emperor’s Scions. Initiates into the cause were treated harshly, but your many hard
